C'etrange takes the holistic approach one step further by using 100% natural packaging: the wood used for the beautiful boxes is grown on plantations in Central Africa and harvested specifically for our manufacturer. This supports the local community by providing income for the workers and supporting a sustainable economy. The exotic wood Okoumé, also known as Gabun or Gabon, is nearly scent-free and protects the precious essential oils from sun rays which would reduce the benefits of the oils. Aucoumea
klaineana Pierre (Okoumé/Gabun) With ecologically sound methods this wood is free of chemicals. The residual wood is chopped into small chips and used by local greeneries for plan fertilization and thus closes the cycle. |
Wood is one of the few renewable resources and thus a raw material receiving great support from environmentalists and economists alike. The wood, Okoumé, grows fairly fast and is virtually scented-free. We believe in supporting local communities and thus chose Meyer Boxes in Renchen, Southern Germany, as our sole supplier of our 100% natural packaging. A small, family-owned business in Renchen, Southern Germany, Meyer Boxes has been in business since 1926. |
We chose this type of packaging to preserve the volatile (fast-evaporating) properties of the precious essential oils. Also, in reusing your box for your precious jewellery, as a gift box, to store herbs or flowers, as a potpourri holder or other decorative purposes you, too, can help preserve the environment by reducing the amount of plastic and thus pollution. Each one of our products is nestled in a wooden box exclusively designed for this collection. I love your products and hope your local distributor does not run out any time soon - Sarah, Medford, MA WE
